Frequently Asked Questions

Who It's For

Who is this for?

What's in the Case? is for ice cream shops and scoop shops with rotating flavors, especially when the lineup changes too often for a static menu.

What problem does it solve?

It gives shops one simple way to keep flavor info current and text interested customers when a favorite flavor is back in the case.

Do I need Square to use it?

No. Start manually first. If Square data is close enough for your shop, it can layer in later.

How It Works

How do customers sign up?

They scan a printable QR code or open a link, pick favorite flavors, and opt into alerts for that location.

Do shops get a QR code and link to share?

Yes. The starting point is one printable QR code and one signup link for a location, so the ask stays simple for both staff and customers.

Who updates what's in the case?

You or your staff can update it on your schedule. The goal is a believable routine for a real shop, not a heavy ops lift.

Does this also work on my website?

Yes. Shops can start with alerts first and add website display or embed surfaces after the core flow is working.

Trust + Support

Who do I talk to if I'm interested?

Email Alex at alex@whatsinthecase.app or use the contact page. This is a founder-led early access list.

What do subscribers agree to?

Flavor-alert texts only for the locations and flavors they choose. Every signup flow includes message frequency, rates notice, STOP/HELP language, Privacy Policy, and SMS Terms.

How long does setup take once a shop starts?

The goal is one location, one signup path, and one lightweight alert flow first. It is designed to stay simple enough to test quickly.

Can this eventually run from inventory data?

Potentially. If Square data mirrors what is physically in the case closely enough, that can layer in later. The first step is still a believable manual routine you can trust.
